Brad Larsen is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis where he teaches strategy and industrial organization. His academic research studies pricing mechanisms (such as auctions and bargaining), consumer search, and occupational licensing regulation, with a particular focus on bargaining power and efficiency in business-to-business transactions under incomplete information. His work has been published in leading journals, such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics. Brad has also presented his work before federal agencies (FTC, FCC, Department of Labor), state agencies, tech companies, economic consulting companies, and global nonprofits. He has consulted on matters of competition, pricing, and market design, as well as for public health campaigns. Professor Larsen is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He was previously an Assistant Professor of Economics at Stanford University and spent a year as a postdoctoral research scientist at eBay.
Professor Larsen holds a PhD in economics from MIT.
